지난주에 동생네 가게를 잠깐 봐 주는데

저녁식사 시간이 좀 지나서 미국인 손님이 오셨다.

들어오시자마자 우리말을 열심히

그것도 아주 빨리하시는데...........

도저히 알아듣기가 ........

말씀은 빨리하시는데 발음이 알아듣기 어려운 걸 보아

한국에 오신지는 오래되셨는데

우리말을 배우신 적은 없으신가 보다.

다행히 내가 영어를 쪼~끔 할 줄 알아서

나 영어 할 줄 아니 차라리 영어로 하라고

I can speak english!!!

하니까 바로 영어가 막 쏟아져 나온다....

아까 우리말 하시던 거보다 더 빨리~~ 

이게 뭐 성인용품 이야기이다 보니

단어를 잘 못 알아들어서, 또 말이 너무 빨라서

제대로 알아듣지를 못하겠기에 결국에...

영어반 보디랭귀지 반해서 의사소통을 시작했다.

꿈보다 해몽이라고 이것저것 용품을 보여드렸더니

무척 좋아하신다,  왜냐하면 제품 대부분이 수입 정품이다 보니

설명이 영어로............

제품을 잘 고르시고 나서 찾는 게 이게 맞다 하신다.

그래서 동생한테 미리 이야기 들었던 만큼

최대로 할인해드렸더니

so nice~ you're very kind 하시면서

그 미국 손님 아주 흡족하셨다.

사은품도 잡히는 대로 막 드렸더니

I'll be back, see you soon   하시고 가셨다.

나중에 동생이 와서 이야기했더니

잘했단다 ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ
(사실 너무 깎아주고 퍼줘서 혼나는 거 아닌가 마음 졸였었는데...... )

동생 이야기로는 미군에 근무하시는 군무원 같다고 한다.

매일은 아니어도 자주들 오신다고.....

미군들 사이에 입소문이 났는지

아니면 매장 분위기 때문인지

미국인 여자 손님들도 가끔 오신 단다.

오래간만에 손님 상대도 해보고 재미있었다.

참! 동생한테 혹시 미국 손님 오셔서 말 안 통하면

전화하라고 했다.  ㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ
(진짜로 전화 오면 어쩌지........   ㅠㅠ)

하여간 재미있는 매장이다. 성인용품점이란 곳은 ^^
